Who are you without the role?
Before the world taught us to optimize...it taught us to protect ourselves.
Some of us became high achievers. Some became caretakers. Some learned to stay quiet. Some learned to become indispensable. We call these personality traits but many of them began as survival strategies.
What's interesting is that the conversation around wellness is changing. After years of chasing optimization, productivity, and "biohacks," more people are asking a different question, "How do I actually feel safe in my own body?"
Nervous system regulation is becoming one of the fastest-growing conversations in health because people are discovering that performance is difficult to sustain when the body never believes it's safe enough to rest.
Healing isn't about becoming calmer. It's about becoming honest. Honest about what you've been carrying. Honest about the roles you've outgrown. Honest about the version of yourself you've been protecting for so long that you've forgotten there was ever another way to be.
Sometimes growth isn't adding another habit. Sometimes it's setting down an identity that was never yours to carry.
A a question for you: What role have you become so good at playing that you've mistaken it for who you are?
